Back in 2007, Google announced a $30 million Lunar XPrize for any group that could land a privately funded rover on the moon, travel 500 metres and transmit images back to Earth.
Audi have unveiled their Lunar Quattro, built as part of a joint initiative with the likes of NVidia and various others, calling the group ‘Part-Time Scientists’. It sounds like they are on track for a 2017 attempt. The rover looks pretty awesome.
