This entry has the alternative title of “Ouch! Bloody hell!”
I have come off my motorbike a few times. I admit. Though it was years ago and I used to enjoy the odd scramble around old mine works where I lived. Such jaunts encourage one to fall off from time to time and to work on your technique when it happens so you do so gracefully and hopefully don’t break any bones or worse (such as knack the bike up).
I stumbled across this short news segment and video of a biker hitting a trailer in the US and flying through the air. Blood hell! I hope he is okay!
I imagine that really hurt. And it reminds me of why I go through the palaver of putting my proper boots, jackets, gloves, etc, on each time I take the bike out. And it reminds me of why all of us bikers need to take extra caution and always be on the lookout for possible hazards.
And yes, that includes you who screams down the moor road on your R1 at the speed of sound!
Oh – the title – for those old enough to remember or for those who have seen the reruns – is a reference to Mork and Mindy. Nanoo nanoo.
I too am a biker, I used to road race sidecar’s but only got a small Husky 125 Cruiser the now. It gets me about.
Side cars – wow, that’s scary and requires alot of trust in the way you guys corner!
It sure did, but I enjoyed it.
My Dad and brother have bikes (fast ones, unfortunately, a fire blade and an r1) and I can only rest easy when they go out and about because I know they’re properly suited and booted (and helmeted). My poor mother…
I know how you feel – my youngest lad has a bike and I worry about him
Nanoo Nanoo! lol My Mom wouldn’t let me get a bike…and now I’m too old and I can’t afford the insurance. On the plus side, I’ve never experienced road rash…at least not from falling off a motorcycle!
Lol, this prompted me to knock up a “Mork calling Orson” ring tone for my phone. The little things that amuse us. You are never too old to learn how to ride 🙂
True! But I’m too “poor”! 🙂 Living in the city can be expensive, especially after retiring” for a few years…eventually I’ll have to go back to work…maybe…Hubby has wanted a bike and I keep telling him to look into it, but never quite gets there.
